Next friday morning I will be on the BMI flight bound for Russia. The days are passing by quickly. It is funny how many things you think you have not resolved and I am getting them done as I think of them.
I have had good response from readers of my blog. Some complained at me not proff reading my blog and said I could have written better - That is children for you. Others have told me not to swim Lake Baykal at 6 miles deep there wont be much of a chance for survival. Denham Miranda, my only other adventourous relative has offered to ship his kit to me. Good hearted guy, obviously this generosity runs in the Ryam household. A family I love and very dear to my heart. on the bottom of Denhams email I read a nice piece of text from Mark Twain and I thought how appropriate:
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed in the things you did not do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark TwainI have read more blogs on folk who have done this trip by road, it does not seem to be too bad. Road conditions seem fine, weather is warm, plenty of eating places. However i spoke to a friend of mine, who told me there was only fat to eat, no fruit or veg, and no water along the way. The only water was in streams and ponds for washing. She told me to forget about taking soup packets as there is no water to even boil!!!
I cannot promise but will en deavour to keep up this blog for the week...
