The Count Down Begins - 3 Days to go.

The weekend is over and I addressed some pressing issues with regard the trip. I have not done as much as planned, but will accomplish them this week. I have discovered I need an International driving permit for Russia however this should be easily obtained from the post office. I need to get this accomplished asap but before I do that I need a photo. At some point this week I must make a trip to Boots to get some final essentials. Still not found the ipod and may have to go without it. It is a shame as I love my music and will miss my Socca and Easy listening.

On Denhams recommendations I have bought some high tech sleeping mat (which I am assured by him to give me a good nights sleep), a head torch and mosquite repellant. I have also promised to take my jabs and that is organised for wednesday morning at 7.30. Hope I dont forget to go.
BMI have sent my flight details as expected. I am still awaiting my visa from the Russian embassy, it is expected anytime now. Hope there are no issues with it. I have travelled before and have a work permit for Russia, so it should be a tick in the box operation for me.

Not much will be accomplished tomorrow as I will be at the Oval watching the ODI with England and getting my annual cricketing fix for the year. Recently, there was a program on TV unfairly depicting SL as the Killing Fields. There are expected to be protests and I know what side I'll join if it gets nasty. It was so unfair to name SL as the Killing Fields and I have made my thoughts clears to the editor and the TV channel. No doubt SL will give England and its Irish Import Eoin Morgan a good drumming!!! Go Malinga Go!!! On Saturday's match England were 139-9 and SL breezed through to 140-1 in the 20twenty international. It will be Jayasuriya's last match too and will be good to see him and cheer him on.

I will be the first of the three to reach Moscow. the other chap Piotr will be arriving on the saturday morning and we will pick him up from the airport and head off. However at the weekend he has had an incident and has got some stitches which will need to be removed on the journey, which has led him to go into a panic.
Mojmir (pronounced Moymir- Eastern Europes does not have a J in their alphabet) will be meeting us on the 11th of July at an airport en-route.

We are now exchanging details and contacts just in case other parties have to inform relatives of any issues or mishaps. Not nice, but best to be armed and organised. I will have my regular mobile on me - hopefully it will work out in the middle of Siberia.
