The team have reached the Western end of Siberia.. Hurray!!
Roads initially were terrible but now the road is perfect with speeds of 100km. It is 18.37 and we have covered 963 km till now and still motoring.
We have taken turns to drive approx 2 hours each to rotate the driving.
We enter Siberia to the music of Chuck Berry, When the saints go marching in on the radio!! Emotional moment for me. The music and the song has childhood connections with a cricket match and an old rival school (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Saints_%28cricket%29).
Wide open spaces stretching as far as the eye can see. Little or no traffic. No sight of anyone on the roads... Small colourful settlements.
The infrastructure is now more sparse. The petrol stations are not as frequent. They are more basic. The trucks are less. The motels more or less non existent. We are heading for a city in the hope we will get somewhere decent for the night.
Thanks Joe and Arthur for your wishes and comments. They are appreciated.
