Bob and Glen welcome to the Blog.
Last night we had a good time camping by a lake in the middle of Siberia. It was the first night Mojmir camped with us. Mojmir had a roaring fire going before long.
It was light till nearly midnight. Andrei our head chef cooked some form of popular Russian cereal. It is called Buckwheat in English. But I have not eaten it before. It was boiled and some meat was added to eat. Russian tea was followed. Mojmir has got a bottle of home made slivovitsa with him. It is made from plums. Apart from all the usual benefits Mojmir said it cleans the stomach too!!
Table wine for dinner.
Andrei provided us another of his student Russian drinks reminding him of his student days. It is called Porto 777. we purchased this on a whim and drank it all.
We made more tea and there was a lot of heady conversation typical of when a group of Slavics get together after a few drinks. They talk about politics and Stalin, the war, history before and after. Like a lot of the colonies were dominated by Britain. They have had the same domination by Russia.
Brave Mojmir slept in his sleeping bag under the stars.
This morning was breakfast of porridge and tea. With bread and cheese. Then a swim in the lake before departing to Irkutsk.
