Talking about Cricket on the Altens Mountains

Driving down the Altay mountains it is rare to pass a car. However we happen to pass a Toyota 4*4 with UK plates on. I flagged them down and ran up to the vehicle and told them I was from the UK and wanted to say hello to a fellow traveler. After exchanging a few pleasant words we discovered Bill was from the Berwick on Tweed and Andrew was from Yorkshire.
We invited them to stop at the next cafe and had lunch with them. Exchanged stories and travelers tales. They had left Scotland 6 weeks ago and had driven down to China in a 1997 Toyota. Coming back they came through Mongolia and were heading back to the UK. Both retired and had plenty of time on their hands. No doubt spending the kids inheritance and having a ball of a time.
Both keen fisherman they had a great vehicle and were fully kitted out for the long haul.
Bill was interested in the Cricket and the SL series in England. A true Englishman. I judge a cricket connoisseur by which end of the sport he likes. The 5 day or the one days. He was a 5 day man and I had to sheepishly admit SL lost the series in the UK. Did not mention England are touring SL in Feb next year just incase SL get drummed in again on home ground.

We wished them well and exchanged email address and parted our ways.
