Friday Mid-day on Lake Baykal

It is a gorgeous day on the shores of lake Baykal. We had a basic breakfast of bread and cheese with some tea.
All but Piotr had a dip in the cold lake. Piotr, Mojmir  and Andrei have gone for a walk. I decided to relax on the shores of the lake.
It is school holidays in Russia now and there are families and kids around. However it is not crowded and there is plenty of space.
The Russian chap fairly close to me has been on his phone for the last hour or so. He cannot be speaking to his wife as you never speak to your wife for that long. Obviously the mistress!!

When you go to a restaurant the next time. Try and spot the husbands and wives. They simply order the food. Eat and go. The lovers will sit chat more wine and laugh, smile and have a giggle before they get on their way. Try it and spot them the next time you go out. Perhaps ask you wife or husband to do the same and you might find you two suddenly have something to giggle about!!

We don't intend to move today. But tomorrow we plan to go to a fascinating part of the tour. It the the Buddhist part of Russia. It is called Ulan-Ude and is about 350km from here. Wonder what it will be like. Russia is such a fascinating country. Nothing like I imagined it. Numbers of Church's I see have been stedily dwindling over the last few days. However as we get closer east, we are starting to see more right hand drive vehicles. I wonder if the food too will change to more oriental food!!

The myth about the Siberian cat!! Recall those big fluffy cats we call Siberian cats. I have not seen anyone of them around. Seen the usual regular cats.
We all know how dogs are more responsive to their masters than cats. There is a Russian interpretation of this. Dogs get fed and looked after by their masters and they think the master is God and hence are responsive and do as their told. Cats on the other hand think they are God as the Master is looking after them!!

Back to lake Baykal.. Why does man like to watch three things.
Running water
A burning fire
Another man working!!

Going back to my mat on the lake!!
