All had a good rest. Washed and showered and then down for a hearty breakfast. Little or no bread is served. A piece of rye bread half a slice is given with the meal. Food is cheap on the move. Tea was the usual high end Ceylon Tea. This time supplied by Akbar Brothers of Colombo. I was proud of it and I hope Asgi reads this..
Hotel room at the Rosa Hotel at Irkutsk
We spent the morning in Irkutsk. Went to a market and got a T-shirt for myself. The market vendors are all Chinese. We seem to see more and more Chinese looking folk around here.
Irkutsk is a big modern city. Lots of the big brand names and even an English restaurant with a Chinese guy dressed in a Kilt. We had ice creams and bought souvenirs and walked round the city.
We visited the church in Irkutsk. These churches are tall wonderful structures. Very decorative icons and paintings inside. Service was taking place. All the women had their heads covered. Two ladies sung most beautifully. Very solemn and a very dignified service. The inside of the church is very small. There are no chairs in the church. People are engaged in prayer and all on their spiritual journeys in this life. A lot of meaning and a lot of depth. A wonderful experience. Andre prayed and lit his candles.. Perhaps for us to behave ourselves on this trip or for his IT systems to behave while he is away!!

Came across this Czech restaurant and Mojmir insisted that we have lunch and a beer:
